Prince of Persia

I just wanted to put down some of my thoughts on a game I have been playing a lot of lately, Prince of Persia. I first want to say the story of this game is amazing. I loved every minute of the game and thought there was some great writing. In all the action and saving the world there was some humor written in to keep the experience enjoyable. I don't want to give anything in the story away, because a certain person hasn't played it yet(Corey), but I can only say that the ending of the actual game is epic.

After I finished my first play through I downloaded the Epilogue to get all my questions answered. That's where I was wrong, but in a good way. Some of my questions were answered, but there were many more I had after its completion. The good news is that they made it so there could be a Prince of Persia 2. The Epilogue was definitely worth the download and is recommended to anyone who has completed the game already.

The game's mechanics were really solid. I really liked the running from place to place on walls, and the game really had a sense of speed. The movements of the prince were very fluid. I thought that the addition of Elika(your female companion) was a great feature for the game. I also liked how sometimes if you were good you could skip certain jumps or run from one place to another not how it was originally intended. The running was probably the most fun in the game. As for the battle system, its easy to pick up, but gets annoying in the later part of the game, because the enemies block all of your attacks.

Overall, I'm glad I bought this game. It was probably the most fun I had with a game that came out last year. I really recommend it to anyone who is a fan of good stories, like exploring vast lands, or just love an adventure. I never liked any of the other Prince of Persia's before this, and I believe this time around they made a great game that anyone can enjoy. This game was just fun.

Now I'm going to finish up the achievements, See you next time.

School Blows!

Ok tidbit from that title, school does blow (its important but it sucks) and that is one reason why i am blogging right now. I should be doing something else... but i am not so here we are.

Glad to see we are now off to the start I wanted, with multiple people posting. With a little more work this blog will soon be up to somewhat operational status.

Anywho the quest for gamerscore is grinding along but when i am in this grind, I realize just how important achievement help sites really are so I wanted to post the 4 or so I use so that others can benefit as well.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/index.php

This site is a personal favorite of mine, it has a mix of 360 news along with the best source of achievement lists and it also has a great community. My first go-to for sure.

http://www.achieve360points.com/

The used to be best site, its no longer as updated or on the ball as it used to be but there is still great information to be found here. Especially with older games from 06 and 07, sometimes these guides are forums are greater helps then xbox360achievements.

http://www.trueachievements.com/

This one i have known about for a while but just recently joined. I really love on this website the integration of forum and boosting, that makes it a great help to find people to boost certain games with. I like how the site is setup and it is very useful in achievement needs probably a number 2 or 3 stop.

Finally

http://ah.roosterteeth.com/home.php

A very cool site called achievement hunter. This is made by the same people who did the red vs blue video series and whom are now all achievement whores. Great videos, solutions, and community up there as a number 2 or 3 stop for your achievement needs.

That is all for now as always arrivederci and see you in the promise land.

Starting out

Let me start out with an introduction. My name is Myles aka Vendetta on Xbox Live. I'm a long time friend of Corey aka The Rock. I'm currently a student at the University of Massachusetts of Amherst. As of right now I'm studying Computer Science, but that might soon change.

Since this is a gaming blog I'm going to get right to the point and talk about some games. The games I usually enjoy are First Person Shooters, Action Adventure, and my current favorite genre Music games. I'm currently the bassist in my Rock Band 2 band Ghost and The Busters (Corey is the singer and our friend Marine is the main guitarist. We are currently looking for a good drummer if there is anyone out there, preferably with a good selection of DLC. Just putting that out there.) Recently I've been going back and cleaning up my XBLA games. I just finished Castle Crashers(which in my opinion is the arcade game of the year).

I'm just going to thow down a few thoughts about some games I've been playing lately. First I'll start with (the infamous) Street Fighter 4. I had a few problems with since game. This game made me very angry at first that I almost sold it. I felt that they didn't make the game accessible enough for new players and it was almost unplayable with the Xbox 360 controller. To top it all off, one day when I was about to play it, I find out that my save data got corrupted and I had to start over. But after a day or two I cooled off and decided to give the game one last chance. The game is a very solid fighter and really focuses on the timing of moves. I've played a lot of challenge mode to get better with by favorite character Chun Li. I started enjoying the game again almost as much as I enjoyed Street Fighter 2. One more thing, the people who play that game need to get more original, you won't believe how many Ken, Ryu, and Akumas I saw online.

Other games I've been playing are Left 4 Dead, which is a really fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously. This game has campaigns short enough to play just for fun. I just started Prince of Persia, which is a solid game, but I haven't gotten really into it because I've had to focus on my school work. I just got Unreal Tournament 3 at Target for $10, but I haven't even opened it yet. I always come back to Rock Band 2, just to feel like a rock star every now and again.

Well I think it is time to wrap this up, as I have a Physics class I have to go to. I finally felt I should start to blog after Corey's last post. I'll probably start making this a routine. See you later.
