Mirror's Edge

Today was a big day for me for a few reasons, one I past the 70,000 gamerscore mark which is great for me and is a large step for me towards my overall goal of 100,000 or more gamerscore by July of 09.

Besides that I also completed the storyline to Mirror's Edge today. I wanted to make note of the game Mirror's Edge because I have very mixed feelings about the game. First off the story was overall pretty good, and there were a few surprises in it that made it worth playing the game. However, there were problems with the cutscenes in the form of the dialogue, which at time was horrible. Also the gameplay in the game worked well but there was too much stopping and combat that effected the overall flow of the game. The best part of the game were the chase scenes showing the brilliance of the game but some climbing and jumping sections showed off the weaknesses of the game. Now before I finish I just want to say that Mirrors Edge is a game that should be played by every gamer as it is new and fresh in a world of games that are sequels and redone ideas.

Finally, one last note on Mirror's Edge is that the achievement Test Of Faith, which is beating the game without shooting anyone is a tough achievement that in the right context is a great idea. I am angry with the achievement however, because I went for it on my first playthrough on Normal and it made some sections very frustrating, ruining my overall experience. So my advice to you is if you go for it either do so on your second try or on easy to prevent hating this game.

<-----Test Of Faith Achievement Image Achievements such as Test Of Faith, should be looked at by developers as a good idea but it should be unattainable on the first playthrough so that achievements that make the player, play the game differently, doesn't effect the overall game experience.

Well now to do some time trials as always Arrivederci and see you guys in the promise land.
